Breath Easy-Mercy Hospitals is Tobacco-Free
On February 1, 2008, Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield implemented a policy to not only encourage healthy lifestyles, but to also help us to create a healthier environment for healing. The use of tobacco products of any type, on any Mercy property or facility, owned or leased is no longer permitted.
The policy applies to everyone: patients, visitors, medical staff, vendors, volunteers and employees. We are counting on the support of all that visit our grounds as we take this important and positive step towards a healthier community. We continue to work together with our medical staff to assist patients who may need cessation aids during their stay at Mercy and to support our staff members who chose to make the decision to live tobacco-free.
