Mercy Hospitals provide a range of services to meet the health care needs of women in our community.
The Family Birth Center located at Mercy Southwest Hospital provides the support that you need during this exciting (and possibly nervous) time of your life. We offer childbirth education classes that will help answer any questions you may have. When the special day arrives, we have private rooms with bassinets and daddy beds that provide a comfortable environment in which to welcome the newest member of your family.
Also on the Mercy Southwest campus, we have the Women's Imaging Center. Mammograms can detect many breast cancers before anyone can feel them and with MammoPad, we hope to increase the number of area women who may delay mammograms due to perceived discomfort. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), the risk for breast cancer increases with age, especially after age 40. As a general guideline the ACS recommends a yearly mammogram after age 40.
