Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield welcomes the addition of the Lactation Support Center at its Southwest Campus. A full line of breastfeeding products, including breast pump rentals, nursing bras and other breastfeeding support items are available through the Lactation Support Center.
The Lactation Support Center is also proud to offer the Symphony pump, the same pump new moms use while in the hospital. In addition to breastfeeding products and supplies, appointments are available with lactation consultants for mothers who might have questions or difficultly breastfeeding.
Decades of research has established that breast milk nourishes infants and protects them from disease. Many new mothers have questions about whether to breastfeed, how to breastfeed, how long to breastfeed, and how to continue breastfeeding when they return to work. The Lactation Support Center can help mothers have a successful breastfeeding experience.
