Mercy Skilled Nursing to Celebrate Over 50 Years
The Skilled Nursing unit at Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield has reached a milestone. On April 28, 2008, the staff will be honored at a celebration to recognize over 50 years of compassionate care to the community.
The unit first opened in 1957. From 1968 - 1981 the unit served specifically for orthopedics. In 1983 it was named McCauley Manor and it was a long-term skilled facility.
Today, the Skilled Nursing unit helps to rehabilitate those recovering from illness and injury. Their main purpose is to get people back on their feet and living normal lives. They have seen many success stories over the years and will share some of those stories at the April 28th event.
