Emergency Services Information
Mercy Hospital's Emergency Services are located on both the Truxtun campus and the Southwest campus and are open around the clock to treat serious injuries or dangerous symptoms. The emergency room staff cares for patients facing life-threatening situations every day. Our specially trained staff includes doctors, nurses and technicians who offer high quality care when you need it most.
We realize, however, that your situation is unique, no matter what your symptoms. Before your treatment begins it is important to obtain basic information, including your insurance information, physician's name, medications and medical condition. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.
Prompt Care
In our Emergency Departments, we make every effort to see patients in a timely manner, but you may have to wait. We see the most seriously ill patients first, and this may not be the same order you arrived at our facility. Also, you may have to wait while an X-ray or blood test is taken and the results are returned to us.
Servicing Critically Ill and Seriously Injured Patients
At Mercy Bakersfield Hospital's Emergency Department, we treat a variety of emergencies, including, but not limited to:
- Injuries from automobile accidents
- Falls
- Accidents that occur at home or work, or with children at play
- Poisonings
- Burns
- Emotional distress
- Injuries caused by violence
- Emergency Department Team
Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours each day, all year long. We are staffed with specially trained physicians, nurses, technicians and clerical staff - each committed to providing you with quality and timely treatment and care. While you are in our Emergency Departments, we try our best to contact your physician right away and inform him/her of your condition. That's why we always ask who your doctor is. If your physician is not available, we may contact one of Mercy Hospital's physicians to treat you.
