General Information
To the Families/Friends of Family Birth Center Patients:
- A laboring woman needs a calm, supportive environment. No more than three (3) support persons may be present during the birth process.
- At all times, children need to be accompanied by an adult, other than the mother's "coach." There are no overnight accommodations available for children or other visitors.
- The Family Birth Center has 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. visiting hours as the patient's condition permits. After 8 p.m. visitors and patients are to use the ER entrance.
- For the privacy and safety of all patients, visitors may not stand or wait in hallways. Hallways must be kept clear at all times.
- After the baby is here, it it important for the baby and mother to stay in close contact and have privacy for immediate recovery and for feeding of the baby. Please give the new family your consideration.
- Visiting hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. We ask that you limit the time you spend visiting the new family.
- Children are not prohibited from visiting, but please be sure they are not sick; even with a "cold."
- No one should visit who has an illness that may put mothers and infants at risk.
- Lounges are located at the front reception area and next to room 2101. Restrooms are in each lounge area. Both lounges are on the west side of the unit. No spending the night/sleeping over in the waiting rooms is allowed.
